How do I apply?

To apply for our undergraduate degrees, you must make an application via UCAS. Our institution code is P34 and our institution name is Escape Studios.

Once you've applied and met the entry requirements, you’ll be invited to a creative workshop which is specifically for applicants. You’ll be given information about your course, get to take part in fun team exercises, meet some of our expert tutors and take a look at our awesome industry-style facilities. You’ll have plenty of time to prepare and we’ll send you advice beforehand. Find out more about the application process here.

What are your entry requirements?

You will be expected to have GCSE English at grade C/4 or equivalent and have or be predicted to pass two A Levels or equivalent. For our BSc/MSci courses, you're also expected to have GCSE Maths at grade C/4 or equivalent.

If you are still studying, we base the conditions of our offers on your predicted grades. If you don't have traditional qualifications, please contact our Admissions Team by emailing admissions@escapestudios.ac.uk or calling 0207 190 4013.

Do I have to have studied my chosen discipline before starting my degree?

The simple answer is no. We understand that many students wouldn’t have had the opportunity to study a creative discipline during their secondary or further education. The first year of all our undergraduate degrees covers all the basics for each discipline and the relevant software.

However, in the application process, we do expect applicants to demonstrate a passion for their subject along with a creative portfolio. You can find out more about preparing for this in our undergraduate portfolio guide.

What makes Escape Studios unique?

At Escape Studios, we focus on providing quality education whilst also ensuring that our students are prepared for a career in the industry. Being based in the heart of Central London, we work closely with industry partners who have not only contributed to the design and development of our programmes but have also provided wonderful opportunities for our students.

Our tutors are also certified trainers for Unreal Engine, Autodesk or Houdini who have had long-standing careers in the industry or are currently practising professionals.

This is why many of our alumni (dubbed ‘Escapees’) have gone to work on award-winning titles, start their own studios or work with industry giants including DNEG, PlayStation or Disney!

What is student life like?

We have a dedicated Student Experience team and a Student Association that regularly host social events and activities. From student clubs to societies, there's something for everyone.

Being based in Central London, we’re also a stone’s throw away from plenty of iconic attractions, restaurants, bars and clubs.

What does a typical day look like?

For our undergraduate programmes, students usually attend campus 4-5 days a week. A typical day would start around 9am and finish at 4pm (varies year on year). You’ll also have breaks in between including one for lunch.

On one given day, you’d attend a mixture of lectures and seminars. Lecture groups are larger, and this is where a tutor would deliver a presentation about the module that you’re studying. This is your chance to gain understanding and knowledge about a subject. Seminars are delivered in smaller groups where you apply and discuss the knowledge learnt in the lecture. This is where you get to work on practical activities and group projects.

Should I commute or live in student accommodation?

There’s approximately a 50/50 split between students who choose to commute from home versus those who choose to live in student accommodation or rent privately.

Students who already live a close distance to London prefer to commute whereas those who may live further away prefer to move to London.

Regardless of your choice, we’ve got a huge community of students who commute or live in London, so you won’t feel alone either way. Check out our accommodation page for more tips on finding housing as well as tips on being a commuter student.
