At Pearson Business School, industry is at the heart of everything we do. Take a look at some of the ways our students have been engaging with both top global companies as well as startup businesses throughout the 2019/20 academic year.
Employer partnerships
Over the 2019/20 academic year, Pearson Business School had 210 engagements with industry across 85 different companies. These included various events (both online and face to face), most of which took place during one of our many Work Fitness Weeks.
For example, our students had the opportunity to attend an Insight and Networking Industry Event at the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH) Headquarters! You can find out more about the visit in June’s blog.
We also ran an exciting Industry Day with employers Deloitte, Pearson, ETC Venues and TIL Venues where students got a unique insight into leading companies. This interaction was also useful for some of their academic assignments as the knowledge learned during the day could be applied to different briefs.
As Pearson College London is a part of FTSE 100 Company Pearson, students also have access to internship schemes, mentoring and other industry events such as the Evening With John Fallon, CEO of Pearson!

What is a Work Fitness Week?
Work Fitness Weeks are dedicated weeks with a range of different activities for students to get involved with. Throughout 2019/20 we held 40 events ranging from panel discussions to CV clinics, industry events and LinkedIn photoshoot sessions.
Sessions are available for current students to book through the Work Fitness Centre – a hub with a range of resources to help compliment Academic Nutrition through Professional Workouts and Core Personal Development.

Startups in Residence
We also encourage entrepreneurship within Pearson College London through working with Bubl and our Startups in Residence. This enables students to see behind the scenes of running a startup business by interning with them and gaining experience in different projects.
Take a look at James’ blog to find out more about his experience completing a Marketing Internship with Bright/Shift, one of our previous Startups in Residence.
Guaranteed Internships
Through our Guaranteed Internships Scheme, students can further gain real world industry experience. 63 of our students were able to gain an internship placement, and you can take a look at some of their stories on our blog. One of our current students, Chloe Giles, was fortunate enough to complete three virtual internships over the summer despite lockdown restrictions!
