At Escape Studios, industry is at the heart of everything we do. Take a look at some of the ways our students have been engaging with leading studios to gain exclusive insights into the creative industries.

Our industry friends

Over the 2019/20 academic year, Escape Studios had126 engagements with different industry partners across 116 events (both online and face to face) with 43 different companies! Through our Work Fitness Centre, students can book onto events ranging from feedback sessions, to demonstrations, mock interviews to workshops and much more.

Some of the top highlights

In January we welcomed Michael O’Sullivan, Hollywood Movie executive and former Paramount CFO to talk about finance within the creative industries! It was a great chance for students to learn how to make a successful pitch to get projects off the ground and become profitable.

Our Student Experience Team frequently run ‘Evening With’ events with top industry professionals and specialists. These often take place during key points throughout the modules to help students gain insight into different areas and help bring a new perspective to projects. A particular favorite was when El Suliman, Lead Animator on The Lion King came in to give some behind-the-scenes secrets from the movie.

We also ran a mock interview and CV clinic for students with the likes of Framestore, Blue Zoo, The Third Floor and Milk. Students got 30 minutes of one-to-one time with an interviewer to practice interview technique and receive feedback on a CV from the experts themselves.

What is the Work Fitness Centre?

The Work Fitness Centre is a hub with a range of resources to help compliment Academic Nutrition through Professional Workouts and Core Personal Development. This helps students to stand out in the graduate job market by having real industry knowledge to compliment an academic skillset.

A lot of our industry events take place during Work Fitness Weeks, which are available to book via the centre!
