Immersed in Industry
Here at Escape Studios, we’ve developed close relationships with an impressive range of industry partners and they’re involved in everything we do - to ensure our courses are as current as possible and to help our students get the most from them. Students on our advanced courses benefit from industry feedback sessions with our industry partners, all our students have the opportunity to attend industry talks, and specialist events aimed at helping them network with creative companies, talk to recruiters and showcase their showreels.
Pixar’s Royce Wesley - Day at Escape Studios
Last week, Royce Wesley, a Character Animator from Pixar, came to Escape Studios for a WHOLE DAY to inspire our animation students and other visitors by presenting the power of animation, how it's used at Pixar, and he also took the time to critique some of our students' work too.
One of our previous Saturday Club students who is currently at secondary school has come back to us for some work experience.
"My mum was looking at “post 16 courses” online and found out about the Escape Studios Saturday Club. She asked me if I was interested in signing up and I went for it as I didn’t know how to use programs like Zbrush or Maya. Since Escape Studios works, and teaches subjects in, what I am interested in doing as a career in the future, I also enquired about doing work experience at the office."
We asked her what her favourite part of her work experience was...
"My favourite part so far has been the talk from the Pixar animator, Royce Wesley. He talked about his experiences in the animation industry and some tips for aspiring animators. I also liked how the office environment is very chilled and everyone was easy to talk to."

Feedback Session with Duncan Malcolm
Duncan Malcolm, Director of Compositing at Glassworks, recently visited our Advanced Compositing Class for an exclusive Feedback Session. Duncan works with the latest Autodesk Flame and Smoke compositing and background rendering tools and assist machines such as Nuke. Duncan brought all his years of experience with him and provided in-depth feedback on our students' projects.
We can’t wait to see what our students create thanks to all the tips and advice given by Duncan!
