Last week, Royce Wesley, a Character Animator from Pixar, came to Escape Studios for a WHOLE DAY to inspire our animation students and other visitors by presenting the power of animation, how it's used at Pixar, and he also took the time to critique some of our students' work too. The purpose of his visit was to inspire students and in turn to help them to strive to produce Pixar-level animation at Escape Studios.

A little bit about Royce

After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1999, he started as a Stop-Motion animator on MTV’s Celebrity Deathmatch. A day with Royce Wesley at Escape Studios

It started in the morning with Royce's masterclass for the Escape Studios Animation Short Course students. He covered the workflow process and how this works within animation.
After lunch, Royce gave individual feedback on the students' projects and also shared some of his own animation tricks from his experiences in the industry.

The day finished with Royce's presentation: "Making things Move at Pixar Animation Studios." The talk itself made it a day to remember from everyone present, especially for the Animation Students at Escape Studios.

“You have to love character animation as a passion.” - Royce Wesley
